Item description

Sweetbay Magnolia - 10-18” in 4” Pot, Fragrant White Blooms, Hardy in Zones 5-10 You will receive 1 Sweetbay Magnolia in a 4" pot, standing 10-18" tall. Also known as Swamp Magnolia or Laurel Magnolia, this tree is native to the southeastern United States and stretches north along the Atlantic coast to New York. It features oblong, shiny green leaves with a silvery underside. In the southern regions, it remains evergreen to semi-evergreen, while in northern areas, it is deciduous. This tree makes an excellent specimen for lawns or can be grown as a tall multi-stemmed shrub for borders. It is suitable for foundation plantings, patios, or woodland areas and is often seen in parks. It thrives in wet soils, such as those in low-lying areas or near streams. It produces fragrant white blooms from late May to early June, growing up to 30 feet tall with a spread of 10-30 feet. Hardy in zones 5-10. California orders will be shipped bare root due to soil restrictions.
