When California high school senior Carson (Ashley Benson) arrives at the national cheerleading championships, she soon finds her team, the West High Sharks, up against chic New York outfit the East High Jets, led by spoilt brat Brooke (Cassie Scerbo). As the rivalry between the two teams builds, Carson falls for another cheerleader Penn (Michael Copon), not realising he's actually a Jet. Discovering the romance, Brooke challenges Carson to a 'cheer off', and it's not long before the no-holds-barred brawl that folllows changes both teams' chances for lifting the title.
