St. Therese Preparing for Mass as the Sacristan ? Exclusive Restoration! ? Vivid Photo ? Saint Theresa ? Catholic Gift
This is photograph #40 of our friend. She is in the courtyard with her sisters. She is portraying her assignment as sacristan, which is the person who prepares the items in the sacristy for Mass, including the not-yet-transubstantiated wafers and the chalice. This photo is illustrative of their roles. It is not in the sacristy, but staged outside where the sunlight was. It is November, 1896. Therese is in her seventh month of tuberculosis. She knows her days are numbered. She will be with Jesus the following September. As we've said elsewhere, unlike perhaps you or me who might have begged for a cure, when Therese first coughed up blood the previous Good Friday, she was joyful that she would soon be with Jesus. There was some scratching on the photographic plate of Therese's face, which they restored using an original citrate print. We think this picture of Therese looks more like Celine's pictures of her than any of the other photographs. (source: archives.carmeldelisieux.fr)!!!IMPORTANT!!! THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER FOR THE SMALLER SIZES!!!!! There is a blank white margin around the paper, 1/2" for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", and 1.6" for 11x14", and 1.75" for the 13x17" and 16x20". For the poster sizes, 18x24" and 24x36", those are cropped and printed to the edge of the paper, without borders.-Archival-quality print. Printed with archival pigments designed to last for generations when kept dry and out of the direct sun. -Acid-free paper. Image is smaller than paper!!-Cardboard backer. -Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag -Comes with the above story of the image. Standard size. We think it looks best in a black frame, but any of the frames could work, depending on your decor. You may also be interested in original Catholic art and jewelry by me, Sue Kouma Johnson-especially the several paintings I've done of St. Therese-here on Etsy at www.Etsy.com/shop/TreeOfHeavenAlso, check out our Catholic Quote site, run by our daughter Sophie, complete with art! www.etsy.com/shop/CatholicQuoteThanks!Sue John Sophie
