Item description

Catalog Number: SM-42205 Condition Details: 8-page book included. Vinyl plays nicely (play-graded). Gate-fold cover looks great; a couple creases near edges, very light-scuffing and surface impressions (front/back/inner-gate). Inner-sleeve is original (poly-lined paper). Spine is easy-to-read with very mild-wear. Minor shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge; some wear to corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use. (Hole-punch in top-left.) Tracks: Overture Dites-Moi A Cockeyed Optimist Twin Soliloquies Some Enchanted Evening Bloody Mary There Is Nothin' Like A Dame Bali Ha'i I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out-a My Hair I'm In Love With A Wonderful Guy Younger Than Springtime This Is How It Feels Entr'acte Happy Talk Honey Bun You've Got To Be Carefully Taught This Nearly Was Mine The March: The Take Off / Communication Established Finale Ultimo: Dites-Moi / Some Enchanted Evening About The Record: Jose Carreras and Kiri Te Kanawa made a studio recording of South Pacific, the sessions of which were filmed as a documentary, similar in style to Leonard Bernstein's successful West Side Story documentary a year earlier that featured the same stars. Emile's music was transposed to fit Carreras's tenor voice. The recording also featured Sarah Vaughan as Bloody Mary and Mandy Patinkin as Cable. Stephen Holden reviewed the album in The New York Times, "the star of this South Pacific isn't any individual, but rather the score itself".
