Item description

Whitman Folders - Sacagawea Dollar No. 1, Starting 2000 The new dollar coin design, which bears the image of Sacagawea, was selected by Treasury Secretary Robert E. Rubin based on the recommendation of the Dollar Coin Design Advisory Committee. The dollar coin's obverse was designed by Glenna Goodacre. It depicts Sacagawea, a young Shoshone woman. Sacagawea carries her infant son, Jean Baptiste, on her back. She carried and cared for him on her intire 3,000-mile portion of the expedition with Lewis and Clark from 1804 to 1806. The reverse was done by Thomas D. Rogers Sr. It presents a soaring American bald eagle encircled by 17 stars, symbolizing the states of the union at the time of the Lewis and Clark expedition in 1804. Whitman Folders - Sacagawea Dollar No. 1, Starting 2000-2010 P D spaces. Additional 14 blank openings with no dates. 36 openings total. Whitman brand, folder opens flat for all-at-once viewing and includes data pertaining to the coins it holds. The holes in this folder have a special LOCK-IN feature. But first, a word of caution: always hold a coin by the edge and never touch its obverse or reverse. We recommend you wear gloves when pressing your coins into place. Now that you are ready, simply place the coin with one edge tipped into the hole, and then press the high edge downward and toward the lowered edge (slantwise). Feel the snap? It's locked in!
