Package of 15 seed. This plant grow easy and is an evergreen plant. The hard, heavy wood of magnolia is used to make furniture, pallets, and veneer. Magnolia seeds are eaten by squirrels, opossum, quail, and the wild turkey. Magnolia provides cover for many small birds and mammals. It is a valuable and extensively planted ornamental. The leaves, fruit, bark, and wood yield a variety of extracts with potential applications as pharmaceuticals. This plant is a good urban landscape tree because it is resistant to acid deposition. The seeds were took this season RECOMMENDATIONS: Fill a 4-inch diameter pot with 1 part garden soil, 1 part sand and 1 part peat moss. Place the seed 1/4 inch deep in the soil and cover. Place the pot in a warm location with temperatures of 70 degrees Fahrenheit and indirect sunlight. Water the soil. Keep the soil moist until you see a sprout. Germination takes about 6 to 8 weeks. Keep soil moist, but not soggy.
