Item description

Brand new factory sealed vhs tape in a full screen presentation which is perfect for old school televisions since it will fill your square frame. Actually a prequel to the 'Jungle Book', the story centers on ten-year-old Mowgli (Jamie Williams) and his efforts to stay among his animal friends in the jungle of 1890 India. After he is spotted by a scout (Bill Campbell) accompanied by a cruel hunter and a snake charmer for P.T. Barnum's Circus, he must elude the hastily organized group thats out to capture him and exploit him. He must also dodge the Bandars, a group of funky monkeys that want to make Mowgli their unwilling leader. But with the help of Baloo the bear and Bagheera the panther, little Mowgli leads the adults into his biggest and wildest adventure yet. All of the performances are good, especially Williams. None of the animals talk in this version, which is a good thing and they are real live animals, not CGI. Impressive as the animals do their own tricks and stunts which takes time and training not to mention patience on the set. The result though is the most realistic version this writer has seen of the classic story to date and all the action was monitored by the American Humane Society. Great for the entire family.
