Item description

Charley's Aunt - Original Production starring Ray Bolger. Ecnad 216 12" LP record album. Condition: Record is VG++. Cover is close to NM with "176" written in upper right corner. Comments: Charley's Aunt is a farce in three acts written by Brandon Thomas. It broke all historic records for plays of any kind, with an original London run of 1,466 performances. A Broadway musical version, Where's Charley? with a book by George Abbott and music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, starred Ray Bolger as Charley. It ran between 1948 and 1950 at the St. James Theatre and featured the song "Once in Love with Amy" for Bolger. The musical was made into a 1952 film (with Bolger repeating his stage role) and had a successful run in London beginning in 1958 at the Palace Theatre.
