Robert Wise John Carpenter special private reception screening invite that took place at the Courtyard Pavilion at the Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach, California on Friday October 23, 1998. It was part of the Widescreen Film Festival. The event included a special advance screening of John Carpenter's Vampires from Columbia Pictures and a special screening of the Robert Wise classic The Haunting. Guests also were treated to a discussion of the tricks and treats of scaring movie audiences. Guest appearances at the event included Russ Tamblyn and Daniel Baldwin, among others.
