Stolz (1880?1975) was an Austrian songwriter and conductor, as well as a composer of operettas and film music. Amongst the Strauss selections Stolz chose for this collection were Kaiserwalzer (Emperor Waltz, written in 1888), Blue Danube Waltz (1866), Thunder and Lightning Polka (1868), and Roses From the South (1880). Strauss was an Austrian composer of light music, who composed over 500 pieces of music.
