Item description

Box cover has a faint sticker shadow and some liner lift nicks on the lower right corner. Both spines have a crease down their length and the corners are a little shelf worn. Pre-viewed for quality and starts up immediately with a trailer for 'Prehysteria', there is no black leader. Plays great on my Symphonic vcr with an occasional static sound on high pitch explosions or shoot-out noises that happened maybe 4 times. Don Michael Paul is a smart-mouthed captain with a comic sidekick named stumpy (James Staley), Barbara Crampton as a scientist is the love interest. A giant, scorpion-like passenger robot is attacked, and a conspiracy is discovered involving evil Japanese. It's set in 2041 A.D. when Earth is divided into zones and America is selling "robotic security sytems" to foreign powers. An Asian general (Danny Kamekoni) representing the "Centros" schemes to steal a Mega Robot, disrupting rebel robot jox Marion Drake (Paul) and his girl (Crampton). Peter Haskell is the boss at control central always in conflict with Drake. Albert Band, father of Charles Band at Full Moon Entertainment directed. Part of the action takes place in a "1990s ghost town". David Allen did the great stop-motion special effects.
