Item description

Vintage original 11x14 in. US lobby card from the silent film drama/romance REVELATION, released in 1924 by Metro Pictures Corporation and directed by George D. Baker. Paul Granville (Monte Blue) becomes a famous painter for his portraits of great women as modeled by the beautiful Joline Hofer (Viola Dana). When one of Paul's paintings appears to result in a miracle, Joline's life is changed forever. She leaves her previous life to live one of service and piety, a decision that ultimately saves Paul's life. The image features a split-screen design depicting Viola Dana and Monte Blue at the left and Miss Dana giving the cold shoulder to Otto Matieson at the right. The border artwork features a beautiful image of Marjorie Daw in a dance pose. Printed for the film's original 1924 US theatrical release, this vintage original lobby card is unrestored in fine- condition with a vertical dust shadow in the majority of the border art area; one pinhole in each corner and one in the center of the left border; and random signs of wear and/or discoloration along the borders. The color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading. Revelation was a place of prominence in film history as it was the first picture to be released by the newly-formed Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) studio.
