In his watercolors Marlo revealed the ever changing facets of nature and invited the viewer into the tranquility of quiet times, evoking contemplation and contentment. Marlo worked for the Milwaukee Jour- nal/Sentinel Art Department as a staff illustrator for over thirty one years until his retirement in 1990. He was active in the Milwaukee and Cedarburg arts commu- nity throughout his life and his paintings have appeared in numerous publications throughout the country. Marlo's talented interpretations brought numerous Best-of-Shows and Purchase Awards at major art fairs in the Midwest. A Milwaukee Fine Arts Commission's Award was presented to him for a painting that now hangs in the City Hall, Mayor's Office. Marlo was certified by the State of Wisconsin to be a judge of Cultural Fine Arts, and served in that capacity many times throughout the state. His paintings have traveled throughout the state with "Watercolor Wisconsin" a major juried show.
