The carving depicts a whale that looks to be a Sperm Whale to me. The item is nicely carved by a skilled artist (see photos). The carving is vintage (see photos). The carving is not signed by the artist (see photos). The carving is an original work or art. The carving measures in total about 5.5 inches high and it is about 6.25 inches wide at the widest point. The whale portion in total measures about 5+ inches long. The item has some coral clued to the base. It looks to have some missing bits of applied coral.
