Item description

Sponge beneath lid has signs of wear which can be easily seen in photos. This is a vintage Dutch hand-painted tobacco jar, likely made in the 1970s, despite the "Anno 1750" inscription which refers to the original tobacco brand's establishment. It features a distinctive Delft blue and white design, often with hand-painted details and a brass lid. These jars were used to store tobacco and often have a sponge attached to the underside of the lid to maintain humidity for the tobacco.
