The Push to Start Switch is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. Located on the control panel, it allows the user to initiate the drying cycle with the push of a button. This switch is designed to withstand the repetitive motions of starting countless loads over the dryer's lifespan.
Causes can be gradual wear of internal components like contact pads from activations, or moisture intrusion corroding circuit pathways over time.
Symptoms of a faulty push-to-start switch include:
The dryer failing to start even when powered on
Inconsistent or intermittent operation of the start button
The dryer starting unintentionally without input
