This is an OXO 16" stainless steel and rubber or silicone, I am not sure which. tongs. The tongs measure approximately 16" from the mouth of the tongs to the top of the handles There is an additional 1 5/8" consisting of the locking mechanism for an overall length of approximately 17 1/2". The mouth or grippers measure approximately 3 1/4" long and are scalloped for better grip. The handles have black rubber ? or silicone ? inserts running from the top of the handles for approximately 5 3/4" within which is a thumb and forefinger indentation approximately 1 1/2", keeping your hand at least 10" away from the food and heat. The locking mechanism is marked on the metal portion on one side "STAINLESS" and on the rubber/silicone portion OXO on both sides. There is a hole approximately 5/8" at the top so that the tongs can be hung. These can be opened with one hand by holding the tongs vertically and pushing the locking mechanism on a hard surface. Very handy. When I retired, I bought lots of kitchen utensils and gadgets planning on becoming a culinary artiste. Within a short time, I realized that the last thing I wanted to do was cook. I am downsizing I am selling most everything including these utensils. I do not know if I ever used the tongs. If I did, It was only a few times. The stainless is bright with no rust and a few very superficial scratches from being in a utensil drawer with other items. Non-smoking household.
