Item description

50+ ORGANIC Roma Tomato Seeds for .. 75-80 days. Organic Roma Tomato Seeds.Solanum lycoperscium. Determinate. Non-GMO. Annual. Organic Roma tomato seeds produce a tangy, meaty flavor that makes them a favorite for tomato paste, sun-dried tomatoes, tomato sauces, and stews. Organic Roma tomato seeds were originally bred in the 1950's specifically for resistance to Verticillium wilt and Fusarium wilt (VF). They are among the best Roma tomato seeds for growing plum tomatoes in containers because of their determinate growth habit. Roma tomato seeds are a warm weather crop best if started indoors about 6-8 weeks prior to final spring frost. Plant 2-3 Roma seeds 1/4" deep per cell in fertile, humusy, and well-drained soil with a pH of 6.0-6.8. Organic Roma seeds germinate in 5-14 days, transplant best starts to 1 per pot or 18-36" apart in the garden. Ideal in container gardening. Sure, here are some tomato planting instructions: **When to plant:** * In most areas, the best time to plant tomatoes is in late spring or early summer, when the soil has warmed up to at least 60 degrees Fahrenheit. * If you live in a warm climate, you may be able to plant tomatoes in the spring or even the fall. **Where to plant:** * Tomatoes need at least 6-8 hours of full sun per day. * Choose a spot in your garden that is well-drained and has rich, loamy soil. * If your soil is sandy or clayey, you may need to amend it with compost or other organic matter. **How to plant:** 1. Prepare the soil by digging a hole that is twice as wide as the root ball of the tomato plant. 2. Gently loosen the soil at the bottom of the hole. 3. Place the tomato plant in the hole so that the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. 4. Backfill the hole with soil, tamping it down gently. 5. Water the plant thoroughly. **Supporting tomato plants:** * Most tomato plants will need some kind of support to keep them upright. * You can use stakes, cages, or trellises. * Staking is the simplest method, but it can be difficult to keep the stakes in place in windy conditions. * Cages and trellises are more effective at supporting tomato plants, but they can be more difficult to set up. **Fertilizing tomato plants:** * Tomatoes need regular fertilization to produce a bountiful harvest. * You can use a balanced fertilizer, such as 10-10-10, or a fertilizer specifically designed for tomatoes. * Fertilize your tomato plants every 4-6 weeks throughout the growing season.
