This is for an NOS crank/tach pickup sensor made in Germany. This was made by Hella for Mercedes. Whenever Mercedes discontinues a part any outstanding/unsold parts can still be sold by the manufacturer(Hella) as long as the Mercedes Star logo is removed. This is the improved later version with the black rubber plug-in. Earlier versions had a clear silicone plug-in that would eventually turn yellow and crumble after exposure to an engine compartment. Note that while the 'book time' to install this part on a W123 shows several hours, years ago I found a post online that shows how to replace this part in about 15 minutes.
