Vintage original 8x10 in. U.S. single-weight glossy photograph from the lavishly-mounted silent film costume drama/romance, MONSIEUR BEAUCAIRE, released in 1924 by Paramount Pictures and directed by Sidney Olcott. The film stars Rudolph Valentino as the Duke de Chartres/ Monsieur Beaucaire. The image features an interior long shot of the handsome Duke de Chartres (Rudolph Valentino) as he stands confidently after making a disparaging remark to the powerful Duke of Winterset (Ian Maclaren) as the startled aristocrats, including the Duc de Mours (Andre Daven, behind Maclaren) wait to see what will transpire between the two men. The beautiful detail work in their costumes is seen to full advantage in this shot. It is in very fine- condition with a small tear and signs of wear near the top left corner; a few tiny smudges in the borders. There are no pinholes, other tears, stains, writing, or other flaws.
