Monroe Cohen Is Ours Jewish Politician Pinback New York City Councilman Politics This listing is for a vintage early 1970s political campaign button pinback for Monroe Cohen. This pinback measures 1 1/4" across and is in very good condition. This pinback has 2 white stars and says "MONROE COHEN IS OURS". Monroe Cohen, a member of the Brooklyn regular Democratic organization, was appointed to fill a Council vacancy in 1968. Voters of the 24th District returned him in 1969 for a full term and again four years later. Sadly, Cohen died of a heart attack in 1975 at the age of 48. Over 500 people attended his funeral.
