Incredibly rare Madeleine Lebeau (June 10,1923 - May 1,2016) autographed 8’’x 10’’ Black and White photo signed in blue ball point pen and inscribed Casablanca. Good luck finding any LeBeau photos this size with that inscription just fantastic. Printed on a thicker stock paper with the image just a tad grainy. Madeleine Lebeau was a French film actress who also appeared in American films, most notably Casablanca. She was married to Tullio Pinelli and Marcel Dalio. Madeleine's escaping from Nazi occupied France almost mirrored her role as Yvonne in Casablanca. During the scene where so many patrons of Rick's started singing La Marseillaise, the French national anthem, many of the actors in that scene were refugees from Europe and their tears were real, including Madeleine's. She was only 19 when she made Casablanca and appeared in further American films, Paris After Dark (1943), Music for Millions (1944) and The Desert Song (1943). Later on she would appear in 20 more films, mainly French, including La Parisienne (1957), with Brigitte Bardot as the star, as well as in Federico Fellini's 8 1/2 (1963). Lebeau's last two films were Spanish productions in 1965. Lebeau died on May 1, 2016 in Estepona, Spain, aged 92 after breaking her thigh bone. French culture minister Audrey Azoulay said of Madeleine Lebeau after her death: "She was a free woman who lived by her own rules, totally inhabiting the roles entrusted to her by leading directors.
