In checking with experts and taking the time to understand this absolutely incredible estate sale find, we have found that peacock pearls are essentially freshwater pearls, commonly called rice pearls, which are peacock colored and sometimes naturally occurring and sometimes dyed. These pearls are around 3mm each and the unique part is that there are 8 strands and the 14K clasp has to be as large as it is to support them. The clasp is 1/2 inch long and about 1/3 in wide. The pearls have incredible color and honestly remind us of Marduk Gras with green and purple hues. Comes from a very upscale estate where many other high end items were found.
