LIFE'S COVER: Young Patrice Munsel is one of the 53 Americans now singing in the Metropolitan Opera Association. She is 5 ft. 5Y2 in. tall, weighs 119 lb., has dark brown eyes and black hair. She also has a well. developed thorax, strong larynx muscles, excellent resonators (head and throat cavities), long tongue, high-arched palate. Alfred Eisenstaedt is fascinated by America. German-born, he has seen more of the American landscape than most natives. A high point of his travels was his trip to photograph George Washington's home at Mount Vernon (pp. 116-123). Eisenstaedt was particularly impressed with view of the Potomac from Washington's bedroom window. Next Sept, 3 Eisenstaedt will celebrate his 15th anniversary as a professional photographer.
