Item description

Very Good condition, the only decoration is gold paint and anyone with the least steady hand could easily restore the painted portions to new should they be inclined to do so. I wouldn't suggest it though, would make it look craft shop. Unsure of the age but I think it is early 20th century and made in the style of 19th century Germain figures. Some wear to the paint on a few spots; shoe tips, base, one button and one cuff. Made In Japan stamp on the bottom. About 6" tall is this comfortably seated European gentleman. It doesn't have to be anybody in particular, on the other hand it well could represent Mozart or Rousseau or Locke or Goethe or Shelley or about any intellectual of the time. Flatter your guests - "Reggie I say would that happen to be a figure of Walpole?" "Fred you have a keen eye that is exactly who it is." Unusual topical collector's item, not something seen every day. Estimated at two pounds with box for shipping.
