This seems super rare as we have found no info other than this online : The Bureau of Naval Weapons (BuWeps) was part of the United States Navy's material organization between 1959 and 1966, with responsibility for procurement and support of naval aircraft and aerial weapons, as well as shipboard and submarine naval weapons...... We welcome any knowledge of history or value of this unique item. Perhaps make a good museum piece? From a ship, plane, sub, tank???? This periscope looks to have a massive long prism inside it and seems to be reversing, so for example if you look straight into one big hole you will see what is behind you from the other big hole, BUT upside down (and lettering is backwards / if you aimed at a sign it would be upside down and lettering backwards, if you turn the sign upside down the image you see will be right side up but still backwards lettering) Condition: Has some issues, it has gotten wet at some point and apparently seal leaked so some iron looking staining/defects in the prisms' back outer surface on one end, and is reflected at other end (I think the defect is only at one end but is reflected at other as it is an exact reverse of it), see picts. Outside some paint is peeling/flaking. The 3 big metal hand knob bolts have some surface rust Selling as you see it! outermost dimensions approx; 19" tall x9" wide x6 "deep aprox 33 lbs
