Item description

Antique Cabinet Card Photograph. Identified as Henry Bottomley. Comes with handwritten photo album identifier as shown. Reverse side is blank aside from the Gilbert Bacon photography studio logo, a company based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Measures approximately 4.25 x 6.5 including mount. Condition: This is an original photograph, not a copy or reproduction. It is in very good condition, with clipped bottom edge. Comments: Henry Bottomley was born in 1820 and died in January, 1890. He was married to Ann Armitage Bottomley (1820-1881). They had at least one child, his name was John T. Bottomley (1847-1919). Henry's obituary in the January 24, 1890 edition of the Camden, New Jersey "Morning Post" states he was the president of the Camden Woolen Mill. His son John T. Bottomley was the company treasurer. John was married to Ella Eliza Woods Bottomley (1852-1914.) Their son was Henry Woods Bottomley. Henry, Ann, John, Ella and Henry W. are buried in the family plot in the Colestown Cemetery in Colestown, Camden Co., New Jersey. Additional Comments: The photo(s) in this listing were removed from a set of three antique albums originally belonging to Newton Henry Bottomley (1880-1967) and his wife Edna May Hay (1887-1976) who lived in Price, Wisconsin. Many of the other album photos, which are sold separately, were taken in Racine Co. Wisconsin and included Bottomley and related families Sheard, Gooder, Hay, Burns, Skewes, and Hoyt.
