Item description
Hemingway, Ernest. FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS, New York: Charles Scribner?s Sons, 1940. 1st ed./1st ptg. tan cloth hardcover w/red titling to spine, 8vo (8.25x5.625?), Very Good/Good, 471pp. Dust jacket well chipped with significant loss across the head and tail edges, small hole in spine of dust-jacket also, inside of jacket has been lightly taped at some point, surface color transfer to inside of jacket also. The book itself is in very good+ condition actually having moderate wear to the titling block and surface soiling to board surfaces, light age-toning to text block, no unauthorized markings of any kind therein. All in all, a quite nice copy.
In the rugged mountains of Spain, Robert Jordan, a daring American dynamiter, is tasked with a mission to blow up a strategic bridge held by fascist forces. With only three days to prepare, he joins a band of gritty guerrilla fighters, each carrying their own scars and secrets. For Whom Will the Bell Toll? A 1st/1st very collectible classic ? and quite the marvelous Capture of Tyme indeed!
