Item description

This sale is for 1 pound of plastic pellets that are used in a rotary rock tumbler to provide a cushioning buffer for the pre-polish and polishing stages. The pellets are brand new virgin plastic, which are white in color, about 1/8" in diameter and are round and cylindrical in shape and float in water. **100% Virgin, Brand New** **These Pellets Float** **They Are Reusable** **High Quality Long Life Span** These pellets should be used during the final two polishing stages of rock tumbling. The purpose and benefit to using plastic pellets is to maintain volume. As progress is made in the removal of rough edges to the stones, the amount of free space in the barrel increases, which leads the stones to make repeated contact with other stones during the final stages, this can cause fractures and imperfections in the final result of the polished stones. The polishing stages are dependent upon contact with the barrel and the polishing slurry. The pellets supplied should be separated into two bags, one for the pre-polish grit, and one for the final polish. When starting the pre-polish stage, add the stones and grit to the barrel, add enough plastic pellets to bring the volume of the barrel to 3/4 full, then add water until the pellets just start to float. Seal the barrel and tumble as usual. When tumble is complete, simply use a kitchen strainer to separate the stones from the pellets, rinse and dry pellets then return to the bag. Repeat the process with the polish stage using the second bag of pellets to achieve professional results. It is VERY important to only use virgin plastic pellets. Other sellers who sell yellowed or mixed colored plastic are selling you "floor sweepings", these are leftovers and usually have contaminates which will scratch your stones. These are 100% Clean and New. Sale is for 1(one) pound of 100% virgin, brand NEW plastic pellets, NO Tumbler, No Other Parts, Just What is In The Pictures. The quarter and Agate shown in the last pictures are for size comparison only and are NOT included in the sale.
