Item description

Out Of Print (OOP) and no longer being manufactured in any format. Cassette is nice and clean and the full screen presentation is perfect for old school televisions as it will fill your square screen. Also, the uncompressed audio is superior to the dvd. Pre-viewed for quality and had to tweak the tracking up for audio flutter on the trailer. Feature itself played great except for the end credits where the audio cuts out for a split second. Box has some shelf wear around the corners and bottom edges and some score or endentations on the cover that are barely visible. Based on the novel by Shirley Jackson. Dr. Marrow (liam Neeson) enlists three subjects to stay at Hill House for a study on insomnia that's (unknown to them) actually a study in fear response. There's brash Theo (Catherine Zeta Jones), dopey Luke (Owen Wilson), and fragile Nell (Lilli Taylor) who turns out to have unexpected ties to the haunted mansion. Bruce Dern appears briefly as the scruffy caretaker, with Marian Seldes his Mrs. Danvers-like wife. When the ornate bedframe comes alive scene happens, the film reverts to letterbox widescreen briefly for this scene so you can see what is going on better, then resumes back to full screen afterwards.
