Eccentric actor Klaus Kinski plays professor Nijinski, whose work with experimental skin grafts has been aborted by a lab fire that has left his wife Tania now hideously burned, her face a bloody mass of flayed flesh and tissue. Nijinski vows to continue his research, venturing into the village with his hypnotized henchman to kidnap and murder local young women and remove their skin, transplanting it onto his tortured wife's ruined skull. Basically a remake of the 'Witch's Mirror' or more specifically 'Eyes Without a Face', this facial transplant psychodrama has long been sought after by serious Eurohorror scholars and fans alike. Remastered from the original 35mm negative this is the best it has ever looked or sounded (optional 5.1).
