Back in the late1960's My Grandfather Mac had a summer place on Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland. I used to go there as a child and stay for a week at a time. I assisted him in making this feed that he would put out daily for the wild deer. Dozens of deer would on a daily basis feed on it. I will never forget that the deer would seem to lose all of there normal sketchy behavior when feeding. They really loved this stuff.
Grandpa Mac had an electric cement mixer that we would load the ingredients into and he would let it mix for at least 1 hour. Then we would bag it into daily portions and lock it up in the shed. My father still uses the exact same recipe and method to this day but now in Florida.
Dad makes an extra batch for me regularly and this is what we are selling here in 3 Pound Ziplock Bags. Made fresh and tumbled for 1 hour in the mixer.
