When the window is down you would rest your arm on this seal. This seal has been discontinued by Mercedes for a very long time. Any online listing still offering this seal is defunct since 2003. Ads like that are left there for you to visit their site. There are also copies of this seal that aren't shaped right, don't fit right, squeak against the glass and often have to be glued because the dimensions don't match the originals. Those low quality seals will begin failing in 18 months. The difference with original seals is Mercedes' rubber compound. The quality and UV stability is unmatched. Total worldwide production for the 300CD was only 8,007 turbos and 7,502 non-turbos. In the 80's these were $30k cars.
