Item description

FLORIDA x 2 POSTCARDS - MOTORING THROUGH AN ORANGE GROVE LINCOLN ROAD - MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, LOOKING EAST Orange Grove Roadside Americana, FL between the years 1916 1942 style...early motoring fun for all the family and - going by the messages on the back of each of the cards - a complete disregard for International affairs, a lengthy summer vacation and / or a speedboat ride being the main items on the agenda, never mind the world in turmoil...classic! Two postcards, both used, colored and full of authentic vintage period detail... Full details for each below... First up... Motoring Through An Orange Grove, Florida Used Color tinted, glossy finish card. Divided back. Postmarked June 19th 1916 The front shows a colour tinted view of an orange grove, with a trusty boneshaker making it's way through the plantation, 3 passengers, dressed in their 1916 finery and a fine crop of juicy oranges soon ready for harvesting... In good, posted condition. The message contains references to a lengthy stay, and is addressed to a recipient in Spalding St, Norwich, Connecticut. Very light storage wear to edges. No torn areas. 2 pictures uploaded, front and rear. 90mm x 140mm approx. Picture shows the actual item. Next up Lincoln Road - Miami Beach, Florida, Looking East Used Linen-type finish to the image. Early 1940's vintage. The front shows a colour tinted view of Lincoln Road - Miami Beach, Florida, Looking East...complete with a ridiculous amount of black cars adorning the thoroughfare...a rough estimate would be that there is in excess of 50, plus a few stragglers who have dared to order a car in defiance of the Henry Ford edict... In good, used condition. The message contains information relating to sunburn, temperature and a jolly jaunt out on a speedboat...it was sent to an address in New Haven, Connecticut. Very light storage wear to edges. No torn areas. 2 pictures uploaded, front and rear. 90mm x 140mm approx. Picture shows the actual item. Use the 'Mouse Over to Zoom / Click to Enlarge' feature for meticulous scrutiny of the condition of the items. A nice pair to add to the collection, unusual images, authentic vintage and both in full 70 to 100 year old colorways... Buy-it-Now, $9.99 Postage - US - Free postage. Thanks for looking! :o)
