This is an etching of people gathered around a horse drawn wagon, 7 1/2? x 10? plate size, signed in pencil at the bottom ?Baranski E. Lasslo? with a title in another language. It is framed under glass and is in very good condition. BARANSZKY, EMIL LASZLO (BARANSZKY E. LASZLO, OPALANK, 1877 - 1941, BUDAPEST. Painter, graphic artist. He began his art studies with Bertalan Szekely, Eden Ballo and Robert Nadler, then continued his education at the Newlyn School, founded by Stanhope Forbes in England, J. Swann and Frank William Brangwyn in London. Returning home, he taught at the College of Fine Arts until 1939. He often captured village details and street details in Budapest, working mainly with watercolors and making graphics. He has won numerous awards for his work at home and abroad. Some of his graphics can be found in the National Gallery.
