Edwin "Ed" Bottomley Hay was born January 16, 1856 in Raymond, Wisconsin and died October 10, 1899 in Kensington, Kansas. He was the son of John Hay and Hannah Bottomley Hay. He was married to Ella Hazlett in 1880. Ella was born in 1862 and died in 1888 in Kensington, Kansas. She was the daughter of Cyrus S. Hazlett (b. 1834 in Pennsylvania) and Mary Ann Doane (b. October 11, 1833 in Canada). The children of Edwin and Ella included Raymond Winfield Hay, Frank Bertram Hay, and Edna May Hay. Edwin then married Lena Mae Stippick (1863-1896) in 1893. Measures approximately 2.5 x 3.75. Condition: This is an original photograph, not a copy or reproduction. It is in good condition with some abrasions. Comments: John Hay was born February 26, 1824 in Alnwick, Northumberland, England and died August 31, 1870 in Raymond, Racine Co., Wisconsin. He was married to Hannah Bottomley Hay. She was born September 16, 1830 to Edwin Bottomley (1809-1850) and Martha Schofoeld Jessop Bottomley (1812-1894). Hannah was also reportedly married to Thomas Brown (1836-1850). Hannah and John had several children including Andrew Hay (1852-1894), Martha Elizabeth Hay Gooder (1854-1927), Edwin Bottomley Hay (1856-1899), Jane Hay Ball (1858-1914), Margaret Hay Foxwell (1860-1938), Selina Hay (1864-1877), Thomas Hay (1864-1954), Henry Dixon Hay (1866-1914), Alfred E. Hay (1868-1914), and John George Hay (1870-1871). Additional Comments: The photo(s) in this listing were removed from a set of three antique albums originally belonging to Newton Henry Bottomley (1880-1967) and his wife Edna May Hay (1887-1976) who lived in Price, Wisconsin. Many of the other album photos, which are sold separately, were taken in Racine Co. Wisconsin and included Bottomley and related families Sheard, Gooder, Hay, Burns, Skewes, and Hoyt.
