Item description

“DANZA” – The Song of Life Oval Porcelain Plaque by EDNA HIBEL “DANZA” – from a series of four porcelain "miniatures" by Edna Hibel entitled The Song of Life. Two young ballet dancers are portrayed, ready to begin the dance. "The Song of Life" may also reference the affection that these two young people seem to show for each other. This is a small porcelain plaque (which Hibel Corp referred to as a "Miniature"), banded in gold. The plaque is slightly convex (rounded out in the center, slightly hollow in the back) and is approximately 3 inches tall by 2 inches wide. This "miniature" is quite large for jewelry, but would make a magnificent statement as a pendant or brooch! It could be used to decorate the top of a box or paperweight, or it could be displayed like a miniature painting on a small stand. At the time of this listing, there were three others , all mounted in frames and MUCH more expensive (with higher shipping!) In any event, it is a beautifully made and very satisfying object in its own right. A great addition to any any Edna Hibel collection, or a great gift for anyone interested in ballet. Edna Hibel is one of the most well-respected artists of our time. From 1934 to 1939, she studied at the prestigious Boston Museum of Fine Art, and, at age 22, became the youngest artist ever to exhibit in a major American museum. She has had major exhibitions all over the world, and was the first American woman to exhibit in Jerusalem and the People’s Republic of China. OVER 200 SOLD! -- A great product and a great price are two reasons why. I bought more than 200 of these from Hibel Corporation when they closed and now just 4 left in stock. EXCELLENT CONDITION -- no chips, cracks, repairs or other damage. Issued in a Limited Edition of just 1000 plaques -- a very small number for any Hibel collectible. This is old dealer stock, never previously displayed or sold at retail. Made in West Germany (pre-1989) by Rosenthal, although the plaque bears no maker's mark. I AM SELLING MORE THAN ONE OF THESE PLAQUES so the serial number on the back will be different from the one in the photo. SHIPPING, HANDLING and INSURANCE within the United States is just $4.95 for this item. COMBINED SHIPPING! Except for a few LARGE or HEAVY items, shipping and insurance within the United States is just $3 for each additional item when shipped together, one of the cheapest combined shipping rates! Save on shipping by buying more than one item! RETURNABLE! for a full refund if item not as described. Please ask your questions before bidding. BUYERS OUTSIDE the US – Please inquire about international shipping rates. “DANZA” – The Song of Life – by Edna Hibel
