This book covers basic sections of a discipline 'The Economic Geography of Russia' and is intended for students studying economics and management within the framework of various university and post-graduate curricula. The knowledge of economic geography of Russia and the specific features of its particular territories is a prerequisite for the successful business in this country. The practices of many international companies prove the importance of geographical considerations in choosing a specific environment to implement business projects in Russia. The textbook deals with a basic data on geography of the Russian Federation and practical aspects of the country's territorial economy arrangement. Russia's position within the global economy is described. Opportunities for international companies and multinational corporations to do business in Russia are disclosed. Some theses of the discipline are illustrated by the examples. The book has been based on ten years of the author's experience gained with students under different level training programs at the International Management Institute of St. Petersburg (IMISP), St. Petersburg State University for Engineering Economics, and a number of European Universities and Business Schools.
