Brand new factory sealed dvd. Bernie Casey (ex-football Rams running back) is Dr. Pride who works at a Watts free clinic. Experimenting with the regeneration of dying cells in liver patients he discovers a formula which turns him into his monstrous other self--a raving murderer and white! Looking like a black man who sneezed into a bag of flour, he leaves his nice girlfriend for a prostitute. Problem is, he has a childhood phobia about prostitutes and kills the streetwalkers in Watts. This puzzles policeman Ji-Tu Cumbuka, who looks almost as tall and lean as the Watts Towers. With its seamy evocation of Watts street life and its careful delineation of Pride's poverty stricken background (not to mention the connotations of his color change), the film injects an interestingly critical social note into the tale. The film is beautifully shot by Tak Fujimoto, co-stars Rosalind Cash ('Omega Man') and has some disco music. The film climaxes in a spectacular and exciting chase around the Watts Tower.
