Item description

Brand new factory sealed vhs tape has the full screen version which is perfect for old school televisions as the image will fill your square frame. The analogue soundtrack is more explosive than its digital counterpart. And this retro-video features pop-n-go simplicity with no pesky menus to navigate. Rodriguez's nameless guitar player-turned-gunman returns--this time in the persona of heartthrob Banderas. The director also has a studio budget to play with (a sizable increase over the $7000 for his indie 'El Mariachi'), so the action's on a bigger, more violent scale. A mysterious stranger arrives in town carrying a guitar case full of weapons, seeking revenge on the local crime boss. Opens with an amusing shaggy dog sequence featuring Steve Buscemi and Cheech Marin and grabs your attention with its hyperkinetic scenes of gunplay. Gringo Buscemi provides assistance, beautiful bookstore owner Carolina (Salma Hayek) offers solace and physical attraction. Filmed in a style that owes much to the balletic style of John Woo and other Hong Kong film-makers, you'll quickly lose count of flying bodies and bullets as El Mariachi tracks infamous drug lord Bucho. And Quentin Tarantino also meets his well-deserved cameo demise in this south-of-the border 'Pulp Fiction'.
