Remove the regulator from the bbq, replaced it with the adaptor. Then connect a 1/4" quick connect fitting to it so you could run a hose from the gas outlet on the trailer to the bbq. This fitting will work without removing regulator from portable bbq. If your bbq uses a 1lb cylinder this will adapt your bbq to 1/4" pipe and NO, you still need to adapt the 1/4" female pipe to a quick connect filling matching your rv. You need a length of hose to put the bbq away from the rv gas connection. Also there is no check valve in this fitting so you must connect to bbq first before connecting to rv and vice versa when disconnecting.
