Item description

Coralberry (Symphoricarpos orbiculatus) - 30 Seeds Features: Heirloom Non-GMO American Grown Seeds Perennial Shrub USDA Zone: 2-7 Description: Coralberry, also known as Indian Currant, is a distinctive heirloom shrub belonging to the honeysuckle family, celebrated for its unique purplish-red fruit that adorns the plant. This shrub showcases delicate yellow-white flowers with subtle pink tints, paired with dull green or blue-green leaves. Coralberry adds charm to any garden with its ornamental berries and provides valuable habitat for wildlife, thanks to its dense foliage. While the fruit is visually appealing, it is not recommended for consumption due to its bitter taste, attributed to the presence of saponins. Growing Instructions: Fall Planting: Sow seeds in fall for spring germination, planting 1/4" deep and tamping down the soil. Other Seasons: If sowing at other times of the year or indoors: Soak seeds in water for 24 hours. Warm stratify for 120 days and cold stratify for 180 days. Sowing: After stratification, sow seeds 1/4" deep and keep moist until germination. Transplanting: Once seedlings reach several inches tall, transplant them to a container or directly into the garden.
