It thrives in well-drained soil, full sun to partial shade, and is suited for USDA zones 7 to 10. This evergreen shrub or small tree typically grows 6 to 8 feet tall and wide, making it ideal for smaller gardens or as a container plant. It features a compact, rounded form with dark green, glossy leaves. The Compact Strawberry Tree is noted for its multi-season interest. In fall, it produces white to pink, bell-shaped flowers, and at the same time, displays strawberry-like red fruits from the previous year's blossoms. These fruits are edible but have a bland taste. It's an excellent choice for ornamental use in landscapes, offering year-round interest with its flowers, fruits, and evergreen foliage.
