The item is vintage. The drum is made of wood, cloth and other materials. The drum has a printed signature as a part of the decoration of Haida tribe member and artist: Clarence A. Wells (see photos). The Haida people are often referred to as a tribe, both in the United States and Canada. In Canada, they are also referred to as a First Nations band. They are an Indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest Coast, with a traditional territory spanning Haida Gwaii (formerly the Queen Charlotte Islands) and parts of southeastern Alaska. The Haida people are also recognized as one of the 231 federally recognized tribes in Alaska and one of 203 First Nations in British Columbia. The item has some writing on from a friend or former owner that reads as follows: To Jordan with love, Turtle Rattle Woman (see photos). The item is from a fine estate liquidation. The item measures about 2 inches in length, and it is about 11 inches wide. The item is inspired by the tribal symbols and the artist's design (see photos and determine the maker, the age, and the origin).
