Item description

Antique Cabinet Card Photograph. Identified as Caroline Underwood Plaus. She was the wife of Milo Plaus. Photo by a studio in Richfield Springs, New York. Measures approximately 4.25 x 6.5 including mount. Condition: This is an original photograph, not a copy or reproduction. It is in very good condition with some spotting. Comments: This photo came from a collection of Underwood and Beadle family photographs, all listed and sold individually. The lineage begins with Harrison Underwood (1814-1894) and his wife Alamanda Beadle (1815-1893) of Fly Creek, New York. Their son Orlo C. Underwood (1849-1945) married Ellen Elizabeth Congdon (1854-1910) and they produced a son named Howard Warren Underwood (1877-1962). Orlo died November 24, 1945 in Rose Valley, Pennsylvania. Other relatives whose photos are listed from this collection include Caroline Underwood Plaus (1845-1930) who was born in Exeter, New York and died in Richfield Springs, New York. She was the wife of Milo Plaus. Caroline had two brothers including Warren P. Underwood of Springfield, Massachusetts and Orlen C. Underwood of Moylan, Pennsylvania. A cabinet photo of Herbert Underwood and his wife taken in Warren, Massachusetts is also listed separately; and also a photo of Elizabeth "Bessie" Underwood, taken in Holyoke, Massachusetts. The Beadle lineage continues starting with Russell Beadle (b. 12/18/1816 in Exeter, NY) and his wife Louisa Dewey Beadle (b. 1/21/1827 in NY) They had a son named Charles W. Beadle (1858-1938) who married Caroline (Carrie) Loomis Beadle in 1891; and another son Albert R. Beadle who married Delia Hanretty (1860-?) and had a daughter Florence Beadle. Delia had a brother John Hanretty. We have listed and are selling separately individual cabinet photographs of Louisa Dewey Beadle, Charles W. Beadle, Caroline "Carrie" Loomis Beadle, Albert R. Beadle, Florence Beadle, and John Hanretty.
