Item description

First time ever on home video, kept out of the public eye because the story coincided with the Manson murders and released at about the same time. Many reviewers at the time noted the similarities, but the feature was produced before Charlie made the headlines. A Hollywood decadence-and-murder story that is a stylish look at what happens when the upper crust meets the down and dirty. Jordan Christopher and his rock group (including Roddy McDowall and singer Lou Rawls!) move in on a wealthy family. Christopher seduces the full-figured debutante Tara Nicole, "Angel" (folk singer Holly Near), and her mother (Jennifer Jones), a former stag-movie star. They fall under the spell of the charismatic, dangerous rock singer and his way-out deviant band mates. Jennifer is taken sky diving with a faulty parachute and her husband, who had once been Christopher's lover, is found hanging from the swimming-pool diving board. Christopher sings all the songs, including 'Mother Lover' and 'Hey, Hey, Hey, and a Hi Ho'. This colorful cult shocker was written and directed by the guy who wrote 'Wild in the Streets'. Part horror, part pop musical, part black comedy, and all outrageous!
