BRAND NEW DSC AMP-701 Addressable Contact Point Module Door/Window contact with normally closed external contact input Description The DSC AMP-701 Addressable Contact Input Module is designed to allow a conventional, normally closed contact to be used on the panel's addressable loop. It is compatible with the DSC PC4010/PC4020 panels version 3+, and on the PC5010/PC5015 v2+ with a DSC PC5100 Interface Module. An addressable loop allows for much greater flexibility when expanding a wired system beyond the built-in wired zones of the main panel. Addressable devices combine both data and power onto only two (2) wires. This allows for longer wire runs and the addition of more wired zones. A module like the AMP-701 allows the user to add a single zone input to a relatively inexpensive module, as opposed to the waste of having to use a multi-zone expander in a remote area just to protect a single opening. Each DSC AMP-701 sensor on the addressable loop will use a 5-digit serial number when being programmed with the panel. With an addressable wiring setup, multiple DSC AMP-701 modules can be used per panel. On the AMP-701, there are terminals inputs for Alarm, Tamper, and Trouble monitoring. Make sure to only wire conventional devices with normally closed contact outputs for proper operation. Also, keep in mind the device's current rating of 0.8mA If any of the three (3) inputs are not used (Alarm, Tamper, or Trouble) they should be connected to the GND terminal located on the addressable loop side of the DSC AMP-701. When connecting a powered device, such as a motion detector or a glass break detector to the AMP-701, power for the device must come from an outside source. There is no power output available on the AMP-701 itself. When connecting a conventional contact to the AMP-701, no more than 3' (1m) of wire should be used.
