Item description

This (side step) foot plate lost it's car! Please sell me the rest of the car or buy the foot plate and reunite them. I'm told this is "original". There are reproductions available through Bentley after market supplier's. 8 1/4 x 13 1/2 x 1 1/4 at thickest point bracket mount the plate section is half inch thick. Very nice heavy duty, industrial age piece Bentley (step) Foot Plate "original" 1929 1930 era, very rare original piece. Cast aluminum. I did not restore it even though very easy to clean up cast aluminum. Difficult for me to place a value. Some of the cars have been sold in the 10 and 20 millions of dollars range. It was used on some of the racing and touring models. The Bentley 4.5 Litre “Blower”, 1931 8 Liter's and others. The are of the most expensive collected cars in history. These were the Bentley race car versions. Important for cars without the running boards to step up on. These cars were huge. Some cars had 4 plates, some 2 just for rear passengers. Some in photo's had none. Possibly removed for racing light weight and earodynamics. This came off a car in unrestored condition as you can see some road debri effect underside at one end more than the other. Coming from the tire it was closest to it seems. I didn't buff it off. The metal is solid and all there. Will clean up to "Pebble Beach" or original look if that is it's destiny. There is traces of the Bentley green paint left on the piece. By the way I have what seems to be an important set of vintage V8 exhaust manifolds, very old and somewhat lightly used. They are from the same vintage exotic car parts collection but I can't identify them. I'm including some photo's here not part of this sale in case somebody can help me identify. These things need to find the engine they belong to. Looks like Buick Nail Head but the bore diameter is small. Maybe the 1st Nail Head. Maybe the early Rover? PLEASE CHECK OUR OTHER LISTINGS FOR MORE VINTAGE AUTOMOTIVE PARTS, MANUALS, LITERATURE, BADGES, ETC.
