Item description

JOHN BROWN'S BODY by Stephen Vincent Benet Doubleday, Doran, 1928 First Trade Edition Condition: About Very Good This epic poem on the Civil War is Benet's most famous work. It won the 1929 Pulitzer Prize for poetry. This is the first edition after the printing of 201 deluxe copies. 377 pages. The dust jacket is lacking. The spine is somewhat faded; the cover corners are slightly bent; otherwise, just minor exterior wear. The interior has a corner crease or two, and there is just a bit of pencil marking in the text. A decent, tightly-bound copy of this classic work in the first trade edition at a very reasonable price.
