Item description

Vintage original 11x14 in. U.S. lobby card from the 1930's mystery crime drama, BLIND ALIBI, released in 1938 by RKO Radio Pictures and directed by Lew Landers, in which a Paris sculptor (Richard Dix) fakes blindness in Los Angeles to recover his blackmailed sister's love letters. The image features an interior medium action shot of Paul Dover (Richard Dix) with the art buyer and critic Julia Fraser (Whitney Bourne) inside a doctor's office as the couple look with intensity at someone off-camera. The border art near the film's title and credits features a tinted photographic image of Dix holding a flashlight while a man tries to crack a safe. This vintage original lobby card is unrestored in fine- condition with one pinhole in the top corners of the image area, two in the top border, two in the right border, three in the bottom border and one in the left border; slightly rounded bottom corners; and a thin unobtrusive 2 in. diagonal scratch in the background area to the right of Miss Bourne's hair. The colors are extremely fresh and vibrant with no indications of fading. Provenance: The Morris Everett J. Collection. Blind Alibi; RKO Radio Pictures; 1938; dir: Lew Landers; cast: Richard Dix, Whitney Bourne, Eduardo Ciannelli, "Ace" the Wonder Dog, Frances Mercer, Paul Guilfoyle, Richard Lane, Vinton Hayworth, Walter Miller, Frank M. Thomas, Solly Ward, George Irving.
